Tolón Fashion Mall presents Ecos by Corina Hernandez

Simple images, cities and common moments reflected through a crystal sphere. A whole new technique developed by Corina Hernández in which she captures what she denominates vision of the soul and that are shown in Ecos. There are nine works exhibited from the 22nd of November for a month at the Tolón Fashion Mall.

These photographs show an introspective world of visions reflected in a sphere. This enigmatic and at the same brief series of photographs conform the most recent work of the young Venezuelan photographer, which has exceeded all frontiers.

Ecos is an excellent demonstration of high plastic quality, made up by a series of digital photographs in big and small formats, where spheres of different materials were used to deform and alter reality through a game of light and shadows. These alterations and deformities of reality express what the artist has denominated as my internal worlds, revealing the pureness of her soul and her most profound thoughts.

Water, crystal, glass and mercury were the materials used by Hernández to reflect her internal worlds, where the artist exceeds the frontier of what is real and captures what the common eye can not see, capturing the most remote details of the small sphere. For this project Corina has used miniature spheres, taking them to enormous sizes in order to show the reality hidden in each object.

Accepting changes and leaving old facets behind, Hernández enters in a more mature territory where the inspiration comes from within. In the ninety’s, 10 years after a long artistic career, the artist started to experiment with digital technology.

Ecos is a huge accomplishment for Hernández, achieving what the artist calls Purist Digital Photography. “None of the images have been intervened by the computer, only for the process of the same.”

Piso 5, characterized by being a space of the mall with exclusive shops, destined for people with great taste, has been presenting an offer of entertainment in the cultural area. Plastic artists such as Nanin Garcia, Milagros Sorritiello and Patricia Van Dalen have left their paintings, collages and sculptures to be seen by all the spectators of this floor. Now, the photographer invades these spaces, with the series Ecos by Corina Hernández.
